i’m in a temporary dorm until sunday, and my roommate and i left our door open to visit a friend thats RIGHT across from our door for 15 min. i come back and my laptop, my dad’s dslr, and my wallet (with my passport) are gone. my roommate’s ipod was gone as well. i don’t know how he got into the building because you’re required to have a key to even enter, but whatever. so i cancelled my credit and debit cards and called my parents crying and they basically told me it was ok. :( i don’t know what i’d do without them, but i just got so homesick and now i don’t know how i’m supposed to enjoy the rest of my time here. i woke up at 3 am and scheduled the things i need to do today. i’m going to get so freakin lost cause i have no idea how to get around paris on the metro yet -___- but some things i need to do today:
1) complete the sta claim form so i can get reimbursed. (max $1,500 when everything was worth much more than that) get all the receipts for the items stolen
2) file a police report, but first try to find it -_-
3) go to the us embassy to order a new passport. i don’t know where i’m supposed to get my picture taken though, because the passport requirements in france are different from the us :\
4) go to bnp and try to open a new account? because i have no money whatsoever. i don’t know how this works because it’s an account in france, but uhhh i’ll try to figure it out. hopefully people there speak english
5) get a new computer
this sucks :( i have such a bad image of paris now. i know i shouldn’t, but i can’t help it :( i’m so bitter. well i think i’m going to be on my own today while everyone else is gonna go on parisian excursions. wehhhh lol ok wish me luck
